Paneer Kofta-How to make Paneer Kofta

This is one of the best Punjabi recipe of North Indian cuisine. Paneer recipe is of two separate parts, first to make kofta with paneer and then make a tomato gravy. This recipe is an easy one. Prepare well

For Koftas:

200 gms Cottage Cheese(Paneer) (पनीर) 

2 Potato (आलू) 
1/2 tsp Red Chili Powder (लाल मिर्च पाउडर) 
1/4 tsp Garam Masala(गरम मसाला)
2 tblsp Cornflour (मक्के का आटा)
Oil for frying(तेल)

For Gravy
4 Onion (प्याज) 
4 Tomato (टमाटर) 
Coriander Leaves (धनिये के पत्ते) 
1/2 cup Curd (दही) 
1/2 cup Cashewnut (काजू) Powder
1/2 tsp Cumin Seed (जीरा) 
1/2 tsp Salt(नमक)
1/2 tsp Red Chili Powder (लाल मिर्च पाउडर) 
1/4 tsp Turmeric (हल्दी) 
1/4 tsp Garam Masala(गरम मसाला)
1 Bay Leaf (तेज पत्ता) 
2 tblsp Clarified Butter (घी) 

How to make paneer kofta:

  • Potatoes to be boiled and peel them
  • Grate potatoes and paneer
  • Add red chilli powder, salt, cornflour, garam masala and mix well
  • Make it round balls with this mixture
  • Now heat oil in pan
  • Fry balls until it becomes brown in colour.
  • Grind tomatoes and onion together.
  • Coriander leaves to be chopped finely
  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Add bay leaf and cumin seed
  • Add tomato paste, onion and fry it continuously.
  • When it leaves oil just add curd, salt, red chilli powder, cashewnut, garam masala and tumeric.
  • Stir continuously for a minute.
  • Add two cup of water.
  • Put on the lid and simmer it for five minutes.
  • When serving reheat the gravy and then add koftas to it.
  • Garnish it with chopped coriander leaves
