How to make salted Diamond cuts

Preparation Time : 15 mins
Cooking Time : 25 mins | Serves : 1 cup
Maida(All purpose flour) – 1/2 cup
Butter – 1 tsp
Jeera / Ajwain – 1/4 tsp
Sesame Seeds – 1/4 tsp
Salt – to taste
Oil – to deep fry


Into a mixing bowl add maida,butter,jeera,sesame seeds,salt and mix well first. Then add water little by little. Add enough water little by little. Add enough water and knead to form a soft pliable dough not to loose not too tight. Set separate for 15 mins.

Knead it once again and divide them into equal parts. Take a little portion and roll them into thin circles. Dust flour when it’s needed and Roll it as thin as possible.

Using knife cut them in vertically then make it horizontally to form small diamonds. Carefully separate it to make it ready.

Heat oil and make it ready. Check whether the oil at correct temperature, first pinch a tiny portion of dough and the add to oil if its raises to top immediately then oil is at the correct temperature. Now gently gather diamonds and drop them into a sprinkled way. Cook on low flame which in turn avoid for even remaining dough.After draining them in tissue paper.

Cool down and store them in airtight container.
