How to prepare Mathi Fish curry
Washed Mathi fish: 5 to 6 pieces
Oil: 3 to 4 tbsp
Mustard: 1/2 tbsp
Chopped Onions: 2 nos
Chopped Tomatoes: 1 no
Green chillies: 4 to 5 pieces silt
Ginger garlic paste: 1 tbsp
Turmeric powder: 1/2 tbsp
Chilli powder: 1 tbsp
Coriander powder: 1 tbsp
One Lemon size tamarind
Fish masala powder: 1 tbsp
Salt: As required
Curry leaves and coriander seeds: As needed
Into a heated Kadai. Add 3 to 4 tbsp oil
Add 1 chopped onions, 4 to 5 pieces silt Green chillies and add 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste saute it for a min until its raw smell goes away.
Add 1 Chopped tomatoes and 1/2 tbsp salt and saute it well until it becomes mushy.
Add little coconut, 1 tbsp fish masala powder, chilli powder, coriander powder and 1/2 tbsp turmeric powder.
Saute it well for few mins until its raw smell goes away.
Allow the mixture to cool then its time to grind. Grind all the sauted items into a fine paste.
Into a heated kadai once again add 2 tbsp oil.
Add 1/2 tbsp mustard seeds then add 1 chopped onion and saute well until its translucent.
Add the grinded paste to it and saute it for a min until its raw smell goes away.
Add in tamarind pulp and some water. Mix it well and bring them to boil.
Once its start to boil. Add fish pieces little by little and add salt required salt to it.
Close the kadai with lid and cook until the fish cooks well.
Serve it hot with rice.
