How to prepare Kerala style Kadala curry
Soaked kadala or channa
Onion: 2 nos
Tomatoes: 1 large
Green chillies chopped
Ginger and garlic chopped
Chilli powder: 1 tbsp
Coriander powder: 2 tbsp
Turmeric powder: 1/2 tbsp
Garam masala: 1/2 tbsp
Salt: As required
Coconut paste: Grinded coconut with water
Curry leaves and coriander leaves
Oil: 3 to 4 tbsp
Mustard seeds: 1/2 tbsp
Dried chillies: 2 to 3
Into a pressure cooker add 2 to 3 tbsp oil then add sliced onions
Add chopped ginger, garlic and green chillies.
Saute it until the onions are transparent.
Add chopped tomatoes and saute it well.
To cook the tomatoes add little salt and saute it once again until its tomatoes are mushy.
Add one tbsp chilli powder, 2 tbsp coriander powder, 1/4 tbsp turmeric powder, 1/2 garam masala.
Saute it until its raw smell goes off
Add soaked kadala and mix it well.
Add little water and now add coconut paste to it
Add required salt and asafoetida.
Pressure cook it for 3 whistles.
To temper add oil then add 1/2 mustard seeds, dried red chillies, curry leaves and pour it in the cooked kadala curry.
Add chopped coriander leaves.
Serve it with chapathi, puttu, parotta or more.
