How to make Bread Rasmalai

Bread slices – 5-6

Milk – 3 cups

Fresh cream – 1/2 cup

Condensed milk/milkmaid – 5-6 tbsp

Saffron – 6-7 strands

Cardamom powder – 1/4 tbsp

Almonds – 1 tbsp chopped

Pistashio – 2 tbsp chopped



Boil 3 cups milk. When starts boiling reduce heat and cook stirring it in between for 10 mins.

Soak 6 to 7 strands saffron in 2 tbsp hot milk. Crush strands slightly to release out the color and flavor.

Reduce heat and add some fresh cream and condensed milk. Combine well and cook it for another 2 mins on low heat.

Add cardamom powder and saffron soaked milk. Allow it to cool.

Take 5 to 6 bread slices with the help of cookie cutter or a lid or any cup, cut 2 round shapes (circle) from each slice. You can now get 10-12 pieces.

Arrange all the bread pieces/rounds into a shallow bowl.

When the milk is completely cool, pour little milk on the bread pieces and soak it well.

Refrigerate bread and remaining milk for about 30 to 40 mins.

After 40 minutes, pour the remaining milk as needed on the bread pieces, garnish it with chopped almonds, chopped pistachio and sprinkle a pinch of cardamom powder at the time of serving.

Refrigerate for about 3 hours and serve chilled. Enjoy!!
